Disconnected the existing cable from alt B+ and ran my test cable from there to battery +.
Alternator/battery light does not light up with engine off, engine on or engine running.

Just a thought,
I had connected the bypass cable on top of the exisiting B+ to starter, l dont know if that would be the culprit?
I am going to recheck the situation..

My 1977 924 had similar problems, check:
Beneath battery compartment, above fuse box, its a common problem,
window seals on the doors exterior and coresponding drains in doors beneath hinges.
