I dont have a whole lot of info on this car yet. I stopped as I was driving past it the other day. It was dark and cold, so I didnt take a long look. It appears to be the silvery blue colour, and I am not sure the year. From the looks of it, the car could use paint (big open metal sore on the front of it), block behind one of the front tires, so hand brake is probably bad, if not all brakes, missing one of the factory 8 spoke 14" wheels. Interior looked half decent, again it was dark, and I couldnt even tell if it was an auto or manual.
It had no hatch spoiler on it either and the hatch could use some paint. Anyone know how much (from my poor description) this car could be worth? Also, how stable are the 924's at speed without a rear spoiler? If I do buy it, it will go to the track, and autocross events!
Thanks in advance for any information.

Doesn't sound like it's worth much, not more than a grand... doubt it's running.
Spoiler - most significant is improvement in drag (reduction). I wouldn't be worried about stability without the spoiler unless you were to put an airdam on the car, and even then only on high-speed sweepers on the track (above 60mph). _________________ Vaughan Scott

A 924 in the condition you describe may only be worth $100-$300. Depending on how it runs, and how much of the car has been crashed before (the zinc coating the steel got from the factory should have protected the car, unless the paint was removed to bare metal and not replaced).
The rear spoiler was optional on all 924NA cars, except for the 81 Weissach Special Edition, cars with M471 option, and possiblly a/some later Special Edition cars.
The car is very to around 100 to 110mph without the rear spoiler, then it gets on the loose side. |

If the car is Lt. Blue Metalic I would say it is an '82. TTBOMK that was the only year with that paint offered. If so that makes it a nice rust free example for the most part. It would have the Audi style 5 speed and should have some of the nicer things like hood struts, Hall Ignition, and higher compression Pistons.
If it runs, interior is OK and the body is straight no more than $1200
If it does not run, body is OK and the interior is trashed no more than $400
I paid $400 for mine in the latter condition but the body was near perfect (except paint) _________________ MJ
