So let me get this straight; Procon's av is nasty and vulgar.
But...
The same people calling it that didn't say a thing to Paul about his?
In fact I think his got a few wolf whistles so to speak. So does that mean that the more senior a member of this board you are,the more you can get away with? And what about Joe using the S word?If I recall there was a topic on that also awhile back where a few of us got put down for using such expletives and yet not a word was said to him today to ask him to watch his language.(naughty Joe!)
I guess my point is that this is a PUBLIC forum and is accessed by all kinds of people from all different backgrounds. What is funny to some may be rude and offensive to others but if we keep slamming each other it's only going to split us apart as a community.
Live and let live is a motto some of us should remember before we start slinging the mud around. _________________ 1979 Euro 931, Olive

Yea I check this thing at work and often have to do a little creative scrolling to hide the questionable avatar. At home I like it. _________________ 1979 931 with a 350 chev

So that avatar will get you in trouble at work? Do you work in the Vatican? I don't see anything offensive in that avatar! It's a woman's face for God's sake! What is the big deal! And don't give me that crap about doing it for the children either. If you're so worried about your kid's fragile minds, turn the f#^#%@g computer off and read a book to them. _________________ Dan Flanagan--2002 VW Jetta TDI, 83 Mercedes 300D,83 Mercedes Euro-240D |

The avatar is annoying at best. I second the request to change it.
Avatar Nazi, No chick for you!
Get over it.
Maybe your stubborn and inconsiderate attitude prompts this: you PM the guy and he hasn't replied? Have you thought about using the phone or even email? Not everyone logs into this site everyday (I'll go a couple weeks sometimes). Such an action would not receive a kind response from me if I were in his place.
I've PM'ed with no reply, called with no answer or message machine & I've seen him on the board since sending PM.
At this point I would welcome his response unkind or otherwise!
Did you even ask about the condition of the wheel before purchase? There's no reason he could not have just assumed you wanted an extra track/spare/snow wheel. In which case cosmetics don't matter.
nick
Actually, the deal was worked out between Wolf1 & Dick, since Wolf1 was replaceing the one lost by UPS.
Wolf1 is aware of the issue & also thinks this is unacceptable.
Just curious, since you seem to have an opinion on much of what I do. Would you pay $50.00 plus shipping for an extra track/spare/snow wheel? |

Hah no my workplace is pretty open and all that but the fact remains that its not just a womans face, its a woman whos getting a good nailing from behind. Im sure my coworkers dont mind seeing it but all it takes is for one snooty woman or sensitive guy to walk past and raise something about it. Its a bit of an emotive picture thats all, probably why procon likes it
Pictures of 924s are also equally as emotive. _________________ 1979 931 with a 350 chev

Hi: This is Dick, the rim seller in this pointless discussion. This will be my first & only reply.
Why did I fail to answer Procon's message? I do not respond to messages that end with WTF!!. Nor would I reply to Procon's threat to "tar & Feather" me on this forum.
Procon received a used rim in good condition ... not a new rim ... enough said!
To Procon: Should you summon up the decency to change your disgusting avatar, you might also consider learning to spell ... eg. motovation?, warrent? choosen? Dick. _________________ 83/86 944 Parts cars (2)

On the subject of appropriate avatars and posts, if anyone finds any content offensive or inappropriate then PM your concerns/complaints to Admin and I will take whatever action I feel is appropriate. In the case of an avatar it would be to contact the member and ask them to change it, if they don't I just uncheck the box which says "can the member display an avatar", with a post it can be to edit, lock or delete the post. My choice, my decision. _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)

OK, I feel like I should add my $.02 here.
Fact #1: Procon purchased a set of wheels from me.
Fact #2: UPS somehow "lost" one wheel out of the box and seemingly it has vanished into thin air.
Fact #3: I paid Dick at jaxrepo $75.00 for what I was told was a good wheel.
Regardless of what anybody thinks of somebody elses avatar, attitude or spelling, a fair transaction or refund would be appropriate.
If the wheel sent to Procon was in rough shape that should have been disclosed prior to the sale, and it was never mentioned to me.
Come on guys, we all have enough stress to deal with on a daily basis. Do we really need to have situations like this? _________________ 88 951 stone gray

That's the "curb rash POS"? I wouldn't report that either unless I thought the buyer was putting together a concourse car. I have a couple C2 wheels worse than that and I run them without hesitation on a ground-up resto car. Well, to each his own. I certainly wouldn't use profanity when replying to the seller about them. From Dick's response, I wouldn't be surprised if he would have been willing to return/refund if you approached it differently.
Re: avatar. I think it's inappropriate. It's my opinion and it seems to be shared by a few others at least. Why purposely offend someone over an avatar? Seems juvenile to me. I remember Paul's avatar being a scantily clad woman that he put up over a weekend. If you can't see the difference, then I'm not going to spell it out. That's all you'll hear from me on the subject.
Best of luck,

I don't see you making an offer, 75.00 & I'll put this very wheel in your home.
