Well, Been away for a few days, life has unfortunately dealt me another terrible hand. First, I start having troubles with paypal shipping center, mostly UPS. Then my landlord comes over and tells me to clean up the shop or be evicted. Same day. Steress unreal. Then my fricken computer simply stops working, ended up being my power supply, but because of the unit and set up I was using I had to go back to the manufacturer to get a replacement part, which took them a week. To send out to me. It came today, computer seems to work the way it was. But in the mean time I have been cleaning up shop. Mostly the yard. The landlord doesn't want it to look like a junk yard which I thought I was keeping things picked up and organized, but not good enough. He gave me until next monday the 21 to have it done. Well how do I remove everything in that time, I can't afford to be kicked out of my home let alone I do not want to uproute my kids again after finally starting to get settled in and them beome comfortable. SO I have been doing the unheard of, so far I have taken in 3 tons (6000 pounds, 7 truck loads) of parts to the scrappper. Radiators, oil pans. trannys, motors, fenders. Wiriing harnesses. Suspensions parts brakes. Sad to see so much get lost, but given the alternatives, I seem to be stuck. I am at the end of my rope and have been cosidering throwing in the towel and junk it all. I am tired of loading my truck and seeing all this stuff go to waste. but until I have my inventory to a managing level that the landlord can see. I will continue to throw parts away. I probally have at least 9 more truck loads to go to the dump. Then at the point. I will decide if I am finished or not.
It is a sad sight to see. but I guess I got in over my head, with this new place no having the adequate space to house all the parts, I had at the old shop.
I guess it could be worse the landlords could of not given me the opportunity to clean things up and just evicted us. And they are willing to help lay in som gravel so I don't continue to have to walk through the muddy swamp land that I have moved in to. Man this sucks. _________________ Life is to short to be looking for something? |

Man that SUX!
So the landlord can just come over unannounced & demand that? Over here they need to give 7 days written notice for an inspection & they can't do an inspection more than every 3 months. If there is anything like what you mentioned they need to go through a whole process of written warnings etc before they can even come close to evicting someone. _________________ TJ

Mike,
How about offering him a piece of the action?
Its a no lose business move on his part.
easy to track sales online.
Cash deals
You can write off the rent on the property
He will be happy then.
Show him your previous ebay averages _________________ 1978 924 95 mile daily driver.

Cant some of us help you out some how... Worse case we pay for storage, heck if you want to give me some stuff I will pay for a storage unit, figure its a fair trade, maybe a bunch of us can do that. If you got two or three units that saves a lot of stuff... arent those units about 60-120.00 max depending on size?
Or you could offer a 10:1 store credit or something.
Anyway their are other options besides the crusher.
So how about it. |

Yes, the Landlords are supposed to contact you before they come by, But that is besides the point I like my place it is set in a nice country setting private dead end road great awesome view of Mt Baker. Plenty of room for the kids to play without hassles or worring about someone racing down the road. The house is fairly nice has some issues but what do you expect it's a rental. The landlord can get away with coming by because they own the house next door. And they are triing to sell it. So they can use that as an excuse to come by anytime they wnant and say they saw me outside and started a conversation. And even though, I feel the place looks pretty good considering the fact I have 13 cars sitting in front of the garage most of which are parked neatly. Looks more like a 924/944 car lot than a junk yard but he doesn't like all the cars. And feels I am breaking several laws by having them here. He brought up the EPA three times during our conversation, Now I take great care to insure that. All oil antifreeze and such chemicals are properly disposed of, so I am not worring much about the car end of it. But we have alot of acetone and resin in the shop, and there are rules to having those items that I haven't quite followed. Like the MSDS work sheets proper storage facility, Minor stuff, unless they check you out so having the EPA out here is not in my best interest. And adding one more stress to the pile just isn't needed at this time. My landlord doesn't need any of my action. He owns 4 businesses and 11 rentals. Plus they are building a mini mall, and they just bought a 2005 Dodge truck with all the trimmings diesel (cash). These people aren't in any need of any money, they just want things cleaned up. He doesn't care what I have on the inside of the shop. it is outside, and unfortunately for me to fit as much as I can in the shop, some things must be sacrificed. So honestly if any of you are close and you need something this is the time to come and get it. If you can't get it. See if someone close will get it for you. Cause honestly, I am leaning towards to quiting everyday. 6 years is a long time doing this stuff, and frankly, I have gotten tired. I still enjoy it, especially the way I get to help people with thier cars. But being tired is starting to outweigh the joy. _________________ Life is to short to be looking for something? |

Sorry to hear about your troubles Mike.
I'd buy some stuff from ya, but I just bought a new clutch and don't have much money left over.
I need a drivers side door and a front grill for a 931. I will buy those items from you as soon as I can work up the cash flow, so keep those around if you can
If you have any 944 body panels for cheap I wouldn't mind those either.
btw, my friend that I sent to pick up parts from you before no longer lives in Bellingham, so I guess I'll have to make a trip up to your shop next time I need parts.
Take 'er easy,

I'm still in the market for a radiator... if you're not too far across the border, I can even come pick it up. _________________ '80 931 FOR SALE
