| I checked fuses 1 and 2, which happens to be fine. Double checked by replacing them. Low beams still dont work. Any ideas what could be the problem? |

| The filaments are fine. Would working in the middle of the console to install a factory fog light switch into the factory location for the switch have anything to do with this malfunction? I remember I had to pull the fog light harness a little bit to get it to fit onto the switch. I can't reason of anything else that could have caused this. |

Disconnect your headlight and use a multimeter at the headlight connection to see if your getting 12V supply with your light switch on.
Trace back to the fuse and relay connection until you are getting a voltage supply.
I had a problem recently where in one of my lights my continuity was fine but due to corrosing of the wires there was no voltage supply.
Since you have both lights out I would suggest that your relay may be at fault. Time to smell it and see if it smells burnt out. Look also at the connections for signs of corrosion as the supply voltage may not be getting to the relay.
Look to your main headlight switch for the contacts not operating correctly.
Like the washer armature I have had to open up the switch and give the contacts a good cleaning. If you decide to do this make sure you do it on a clean table as there are multiple springs and contacts inside that are quite fidely and dropping them is almost a certanty when you open up the switch.

The problem I had was the low beam on one side was coming on really dim. I mean really dim, you could only just see then in daylight.
The problem turned out to be a broken ground wire in the loom that goes to the headlamps. Years of rubbing on the retraction mechanisim had worn it right through.
Have a quick check in this area to see if this is your problem or not. _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)
