i found that on the FAQ on this website. i guesss then i got a worn camshaft i got ticking noise. can i easily replace the camshaft??

You need to pull the valve cover and have a look first. Worn cam lobes will be easily apparent - they'd be rounded at the edges. The problem might only be that the valves need adjustment. While in there, also verify that the cam oiler elbow (small plastic piece at the front) is intact.

This is the same problem you stated in this thread?

I totally agree with Smoothie. And with the previous suggestions.

Check the lifter adjustment first. Also check the oiler elbow.

These engines all "tick" when starting from cold and may "tick" more than some other engines, due to the design. If you've never heard this type of engine before, it may sound abnormal. But it's not.

That's not to say you don't have a worn camshaft or other problems. I'm just suggesting, like others, that it's probably something more simple.
