theres something very wrong with it

"smokes like a safehouse.." most likely means "blown head gasket and the engine is burning so much oil its not even funny"

Probably just blocked PCV.
This will cause it to leak oil onto the exhaust from the filler cap.
(mine did)

It doesn't look that bad !

LOL famous last words...

If I were over there, I would certainly take the time to look. I personally find it much easier to fix neglected or damaged mechanicals than I do to restored ruined sheet metal.

It actually looks like a nice straight car...except the exhaust is sagging a bit.
