Now that I am done picking my JAW off the floor - WTF timstar WTF!!!

You end an auction 3 hours from its end with 18 watching and bids $40 less than your reserve. Granted you have your reserve not set correctly - at least with respect to what you WANT. But COME ON, you had the car SOLD. Yet, for a $100 you get greedy and end the auction early. That has gotta to be one of the most bonehead moves I've seen in a loooong time. And I am sorry to have to say it. And I am sorry that it is not at all helpful to say, but damn it it I had to say it. I am soooo thoroughly disappointed in the fact that so many poeple have tried so hard and patiently to help you and you consistantly manage to f_ck it up. I guarentee you would have made your $850 reserve in the last minute or two, and as it has been said, probably more. Now, for $100 of greediness, you are stuck with a car you wont drive but 18 people might have.

The best thing you can do right now, is log into ebay and choose "make second chance offer" and pick the last bidder. Or tell them that you took it offline to sell it but that deal fell through. As much as I would love to see you manage a way to keep the car and keep it running and fix it up - I just don't think it is "your time" to own one.

I just cannot believe it. This brings new meaning to "shock and awh".

Sorry Tim, and sorry to all others if my remarks are not politically sensitive - but I'm just very disappointed and have to express myself.

Tims problem is ..he just doesn't listen to advice. He asks question...we tell him the answers...then he wanders through his problem blindly. I am with you Khal...110% he drives me too....but I can't seem to stop reading his posts or replying.

I'm still confused, Tim.

Are you buying a 944? Are you keeping your 924? Are you selling your 924? Are you buying a Golf? Which is it?

Whichever it is, can you please just get on with it so we can get some peace!

I could always relist it. Yeah I got too greedy. It's just that I almost paid 4000 for the car and repairs and wanted as much as I can get for it.

I can drive the car, actually I'm still driving it to school there's nothing wrong with it but the exhaust smells "rich" and it may be giving me headaches.

honestly I'm confused on what to do I keep on changing my mind I think I'm going to try and put a proper exhaust on it with cat/ maybe new exhaust manifold if its cracked, fix the hatch and then see if I still get headaches.

I then might try the autotrader magazin/ buysell magazine I think it would sell for more like that. The previous owner put it in the autotrader with picture/ internet buysell. He had listed it for 2700 and I offered 2000.

I don't know yet, I"m thinking I should just stop wasting all my money and buy a bus pass.

bus pass! bus pass! bus pass!

naw im kiddin, only losers ride the bus

anyway i think you should try to sell the car in a local auto mag and put a relativly high price on it, 3000c$? and then all the 16 years olds who wants a Porsche will come to you and you can make a nice profit. thats what i would do.

and then use that cash to get a reliable modern car, a golf is an excellent idea!

but if you want a car you can work on, i would recommend something along the lines of.. a Trabant!

good luck,
erik

that's what I was thinking I'm going to put a for sale sign on the rear hatch glass. I'd rather be patient and get the most I can get.

I'm going to cancel my insurance though until my classes are over not just because of the headaches but the driver footwell area has water leaks and I don't have the time to fix it driving like that in the rain will get water all over the fuse box / wires that'll mess things up bad.... I think that's why my turn signals stopped working and now suddently work again... its been dry for a while.

yeah, ripping off people is an excellent way to get used to being a lawyer. Come on guys what kind of advice is this - sell the car to an innocent 16 year old for 3 times its worth. This post just get worse and worse with each visit - why do I keep coming back.

Maybe its to see the new Trabant that timstar is looking for:

Now THAT's reliable transporation - as long as you feed it and keep its shoes clean.

there is one small spot, it'll need a paint job, the paint is decent, but the front bumper is chipped to all hell, i bought it that way. also, it looks like the previous owner had a shopping cart run into the side panels, i did my best of popping/bondo/painting.

if you're serious about trading, or whatever, i'd check into how much it will cost to get it to you. its a 2000 mile trip.
