I noticed something today the fan relay heats up quite abit while driving bit hot to the touch is this normal?
Now when the car is off I find that same relay still warm to the touch I changed the old one which was actually hot to a new one and it seems to be warm even tho the car is off. Unplug the battery and its normal to the touch after a period of time connect the batt back up and that fan relay is warm again after say 20min not hot but warm. I assume that circuit draws power even when the car is off? is this normal can some one verify if the fan relay is warm to the touch even with the car being cool not used for an hour or so?
Thanks
Chris.

Strange. If it was energised the fan would be running.
The blower fan runs off the same power source.

Should be no power there with the key off or out.

cooling fan and blower fan are not running key is out of the ignition but that relay is warm to the touch. If I disconect the battery it becomes cool to the touch but hook up the battery again and that realy after a short period of time is warm again.
Can some one verify with the car not having been run for awhile and the key out of the ignition check the cooling fan relay and see if its warm to the touch or not. ?
