My 1987 924s has been totaled by my insurance.
Sideswipe, passenger door and fender need to be replaced and head sized dent on rear monocoque.
Steel A-arm is bent and whatever else goes along with that (sway bar?).
Mounting bracket looks good.
Wheel bent back and severly dented wheelwell with some metal tearing on inner wall.
How much should I be willing to pay for salvage value? I think I can fix everything (where have you heard that before?).
77k mi on odometer, engine runs good.
Thanks |

Personally, I wouldn't pay over $500. I bought mine complete, straight and running for $1125. There is a very nice guards red '88 924S for sale in San Diego for $3000 (not that you would go that far to get one, but for comparison).
You could always part it out if you're unable to fix it, but that is time consuming and potentially very frustrating.
Best of luck! _________________ Chris

Thanks, mine was guards red!
Of course one of my friends lives in San Diego. I could fly out and drive it back. My settlement would cover it.
The plan is starting to come together....

The seller is the regional director of the SoCal 944 Spec series and a real stand up guy. _________________ Chris

I just got back to SoCal tonight from a week and a half in Highlands Ranch, at my sisters.
I could have taken a look at your car while I was there, and/or made an offer on the car or the engine while I was there, and dragged it back with me. I am looking for an engine for my 87 924S (chassis only has 72K miles), because I haven't gotten around to assembling a replacement engine for it. |
