|
The Thanksgiving holiday is celebrated in the USA on the last Thursday in November. On this day of giving thanks, philosophers remind us of the human spirit that transcends nationality, inspiring us to face the cold winter ahead.
So we should take a moment to be thankful for all the bounty laid before us; the good life family and friends bring and the joyful spirit bestowed by the holiday season before us now.
Hope you all have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
Note to clear up the "last thursday in November" thing:
President Roosevelt signed the bill establishing the fourth Thursday in November as Thanksgiving Day. Because two years out of every seven have five Thursdays in November, some states for the next 15 years celebrated on their own on the last Thursday. Since 1956, the fourth Thursday in November has been observed by every state.
Me? I'm just here for the food.
Oh, and I'm thankful that my 924 starts reliably now. _________________ '80 924 n/a SOLD

Ha, you totally suckered me in. . .I was thinking, wow that is quite a sentiment, for a Nebraskan.
Bonus question: What does the "N" on the Huskers' helmets stand for?

Oh now see.....you have to start up with the trash talking already....and here it is a holiday too.
Think the Buffs will be sober enough to play tomorrow? Providing they can find the field, that is. _________________ '80 924 n/a SOLD |

The corn huskers are already looking past tomorrow's game:
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska says farewell Friday to a senior class that served as a bridge from the Cornhuskers' program of old.
With their ticket already punched for the Big 12 Conference Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium on December 2 versus either Texas or Oklahoma, the 23rd-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers try to close out the 2006 regular season on a positive note this Friday as they square off against a disappointing Colorado program at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.
After Friday's game against Colorado (2-9, 2-5), the seniors and their teammates will play for Nebraska's first conference championship since 1999 in the Big 12 title game.

If the players are looking past Colorado with this coaching staff, tomorrow's game will go in the loss column. Callahan and that group can blow a twenty one point lead, it's no telling what they can do starting out even against a fired up Colorado team that has to look at this as their bowl game.

PS If you can read between the lines, this is the worst coaching staff we have had since World War II, and yes Don Ihave seen them all.

Yeah, remember the Super Bowl, when Callahan didn't change audibles installed by Gruden the prior season? Ouch! _________________ Toofah King Bad
