let me just say this about 924T and 944 clutch jobs.....

with a professional lift, air tools and a tranny jack and no problems you can do one in 1.5 hours R&R....That is the fastest I've seen one done by a professional. I think one can be done in 3 to 4 hours, with some help and a little study of what you need to do.

The motor should never come out. The trans can usually stay in unless you have to replace the pilot bearing. Exhaust comes out. starter out.

?

which F1 team did they work for?

hour and a half for the clutch, six and a half getting everything undone for the first time in twenty years, repairing a broken exhaust strap, looking for where that oil might be coming from, marvelling at the lack of rust on an early 80s car, cursing while you rub your head, realising that track rod end will need doing soon...

key word no problems....lol....no when you get used to doing it everyday it becomes real fast....I used to do timing belt jobs like it was second nature...I would be a little hesitant on a 944 if I didn't have the gauge

Find a nice and clean left hand drive S2 or GT (as long at it is all there, doesnt have to run) I would take you up on your offer. Of course I will keep it here fixing other items for a year or two .......till your tired of waiting and sell me the car.

I love my air tools, and if I can ever get my car garage built I will buy a lift. I used to strip a 924 or 944 to a shell in a couple of weekends, down to every washer and screw.

The only bolts I've ever had to drill out were the cv and flywheel fasteners.

Here in the south part of the US there isn't a lot of salt usage on the roads so most stuff breaks free. Water on the bellhousing locks up the clutch fork pin and starter bolts. But an impact or long wrench usually takes care of it on the bolts. I still have a fork pin in a bellhousing on a turbo motor that I have never been able to remove even with a slide hammer.
