|
|
My 924s had the window replaced before I bought it and the guy who put the mirror on put it on too high so that the sun shades hit it when lowered.
Has anybody had any success in removing the glue that holds the mirror assembly? I was thinking of just getting a whole new one cause the old glued on piece would be hidden from the driver but still it would be nice to get it on there right. |

Can be tough to fix without cracking the glass.
I've not done myself, but I've heard...
A sharp razor blade carefully forced between the bracket and glass removes it. Then scrape the glass clean. I'm not sure I subscribe to this so the best course of action might be to check with a glass or body shop and see what they recommend. |

I called an auto glass place that had done work for me before and they said they would try but could not guarantee that they would not do some damage. "OK thanks" was my reply.
I emailed 3M to see if they had anything that might work and they responded quickly but did not have a product that would work for this problem.
Maybe the best solution is to just glue a new piece on lower and leave the the other small part there. Maybe a mini Porsche emblem would look nice right there'>) It does not compromise my vision in any way.
i do have some super glue remover that I'll try next but that is about it for this problem. |

I carefully wiggled the mirror and the next thing you know it was in my hand. It is now in the correct place!
Now where's that antenna routing info I was looking for |
