I came across a set of wheels I really like on eBay, I was looking at less-expensive Rota's, Enkei's, etc. I have always had good luck with Enkei rims so I think these would be a pretty good buy.

I have a '77 924 N/A with the stock 4-bolt (4x108?) bolt pattern. Where I am lost is the wheel offsets and widths. The wheels I am looking at are a 15x6.5 with a 38 offset. I don't want to go bigger than 16" or 7" wide. Will these fit without spacers or anything? Seems like a pretty basic offset but I just wanted to check before I pulled the trigger. Thanks...

Also, what would I be looking at for tire sizes for those wheels? Thanks.

This may sound silly but I had 205s Yokahamas on the 14in rims stock and I liked the ride and the handling. With the money saved if I were you would be to lower car front and rear and with competition pads you will have a ncice car. Add larger swaybars front and rear.

I speak from little experience. These cars can take all your money for little gain. Ask me how I know.

Wheel offset is the distance between the centre of the wheel and the hub mounting point. The higher the offset, the further away the hub mounting is, and hence the further towards the inside of the car the wheel will sit on the hub.

Try this

http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Your new wheels will be 11mm closer to suspension and the wheel will stick out a further 1mm. Might be a bit tight. See if you can measure the gap between the stock wheel and the suspension to see you much room you have to play with.

195/60/15 tires would be exactly the same size/height as the stock ones (assuming you have 185/70/14 ?) Have a look at this page

There are a lot of older wheels like this on ebay. I think some of them are pretty cool looking if you removed the centercap. I picked up a similar set for $50.
Most of the older wheels are 15" but there are some 16" out there. Offset again is hit or miss so ask the seller, and some may need spacers. Make sure you ask how heavy they are too, as adding heavier wheels is a big performance negative. Also, they tend to be either 6 or 7 inches wide so you don't add a lot of width, but I'm not sure that there is a lot to be gained with a real wide tire on these cars anyway. There is no question, however, that lower profile tires, and a stiffer tire/rim combo will improve handling. Alhtough I like the OEM wheels, 14 inches with a 70 or 75 aspect ratio tire leaves a lot of room for improvement. Like everything else, wheel technology has improved in the last 30 years.

I like those 10 spoke enkei's and think they would look great.
when considering wheels, lighter is better! heavy wheels will really hurt performance. those enkeis look like they would be light too!

I would recomend 205/60/15
