Rasta's asked a couple times to post some details of my project so here ya go.

Ive owned my 924S since '89, converted the brakes and suspension to 951 a few years back. A broken valve spring took it off the road, one thing led to another and it's on its way to becoming 951S powered CGT replica.

The insides been gutted, stripped to bare metal. Made a new crossmember and rear mounts for leather 993 power seats. Primed and coated with Lizard skin.

The underside was stripped to bare metal, cut out trans crossmember and welded tank mounts for plastic fuel tank. Primed, undercoated and ready for clear coat.

Here's some specs so far.
Body AIR front spoiler and rear flares. 968 rear spoiler, GTR side mirrors, 951 lower rear valance, european rear bumper, script door handles. 951 front clip with 924 valance mount flange. Undecided if I'll use hood scoop or not.

Transmission Stock 951, solid lindsey mount, side strut mount.

Engine '88 951S block, Lindsey Stage 2 head with solid lifter cam, steam vent kit, JE coated pistons, Garret turbo, Vitesse MAF, 3" downpipe and exhaust, lightened flywheel. Undecided on bigger intercooler.

Suspension Delrin busings everywhere. Koni coil overs with dual rate front springs. Bilstein coil over shocks rear. 951 M030 sways. 18" hollow spoke 996 wheels, 225/40-18 285/30-18 Bridgestone S0-3's.

Brakes 951

Thats all i can think of for now. I'll get some pics when I have a chance.

Mike

What product did you use for the "lizard skin"? That looks pretty sweet. I want to do something similar in mine, I've had my eye on a Sherwin Williams product, but I'd be curious what you used.

The product is called Lizard skin. http://www.lizardskin.com/pages/ceramic.php

Its a ceramic sound deadener/heat shield. Supposedly reduces temps 25-30+ degrees, reduce noise by 10-12db. 3 gallons did the entire inside, with a little left over.

Looks Beautiful! Can't wait to see this car when its done! I wanted to go with one of those body kits, but I only have the 924s engine. So it would look good, but be a slow car. That 951 engine will fly in that car!
Can you roll Lizard skin on with a roller, or do you have to spray it on with a spray gun? I saw the website said spray, but maybe it could be rolled?

I don't see why you couldn't roll it. I know of at least one person that used a brush. You could probably use a standard undercoat gun if you have one.

Now that's a turbo! Are you doing the welding on the down pipe? If you are, very nicely welded

Thanks! I wish I could take credit for the welding, but it's a Lindsey Racing downpipe.

Turbo is a Garrett T4
