I've been given a shipping quote for 4 wheels (no tyres) from the US. Anyone stateside have a ballpark figure of the likely price?
The price I have been given seems excessive to say the least.
TIA... |

USPS just like all the others will work on volumetric measurements and yes it is expensive to ship between the US and the UK. Get the dimensions and approximate weight and get a quote from the USPS site. Another issue is that a lot of companies have a limit, so you might find that 4 wheels will have to be sent in two packages which again will make the price high.
The last M&K muffler that we imported cost us $135 in shipping.
Try here for a good price (Not sure on service or reliability, but they have good prices) - http://www.parcel2go.com/
Hope this helps? _________________ Kroggers

Yeah, I imagine that 2 boxes will be required.
He wants $400...
I guess I will have to find out which company he intends using and what weight and dimentional limits come into play. I would of thought that each indiviual box would'nt be subject to volumetric calculations? Usually that only happens when a parcel exceeds 120cm or is over 25KG.
These are 951 Fuchs wheels so not the heaviest rims in the world 2x7JX16 & 2X8X16 so not hard to calculate box dimentions.
Anyway, cheers guys... I'll see if there is any scope to add a few other parts per box to sweeten the shipping costs a lil'. |

951 Fuchs.
They were an option for the late 85-86 951 models. They differ from 911 wheels in that they allow for the use of Brembo calipers. I have 911 Fuchs wheels but would have to use a spacer at least 18mm thick to clear the calipers.
As a compromise I'm using 951 phonnies 7&8J ET 23.3. But I'm going oldskool and want to run Fuchs rims. I don't like front spacers on our cars so I want the correct fitment.
937's just used 911 rims. Caliper clearance isn't an issue. I think the GTS used 911 alloy-finned turbo calipers, again no clearance issues. |
