1981 Porsche 924 Turbo $1,500
I've wanted one of these since the early '80's and I recently found this one. First owner had it for about 28 years. It has Sport seats .......plus the disc brakes......and the A/C works.....which is pretty amazing for a 1981 car. Interior is near mint. The first owner must have kept it in the garage.
I plan to clean it up.....wax the paint.....fix the one dent in the drivers front fender......then use it for local car shows. Eventually I'd like to repaint it in a couple of years. I also need to research the black decals on the hood......I've never seen these before and they look like a factory option.

wow, aside from body work, it looks like a great car.

ps- I think those decals are factory, but were only available for a short while. There is some info on it at 924.org _________________ 1978 924 NA

Nice one!
I reckon the decal is a bit bold against that red, not to my tastes. But it's distinctive. I'd probably keep them all the same, if it was delivered like that...
I like the look of those seats. Are they the "sports" seats or something? _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

I'm torn about the stripes......I'm all for originality.....but they are over powering. And my car crazy 14 year old daughter looked at the stripes and said....."The stripes say 924....shouldn't they say 931?" Gotta love that....she takes after me obviously.

It's quite original......first owner had it for alomost 30 years.....second owner had it for a very short period of time......I'm the third owner. According to the second owner it has never left him stranded.
Now I must update my sig.... _________________ 1981 931 (Canadian car)

Very nice find!
Yes, those were factory option decals, though I've never seen them on such a late model car. FWIW, I had a guy make up a duplica set of those that says 931, which I am eventually planning to install on my son's S2 to cover up some cosmetic flaws on his hood.
Did it come with that slick hat too?! _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

That's interesting about the stripes.
How much would it be to get them made up? I'm guessing they must be tricky to install.
I showed another friend the photos and he was asking about the hat as well. _________________ 1981 931 (Canadian car)
