Here's a very informative answer. . .you're a dumb shit!
Just kidding. . .if you are referring to the Porsche 2.5 I-4, there was no twin cam variant that went into a production car, AFAIK.
The twin cam, 16v motors were both 3.0L, and went into the 9444S2, and the 968 (with variable valve timing). _________________ Toofah King Bad

Still have a suspicion that there's no such thing as a DOHC 2.5L. Thought they were 2.7L and/or 3.0L. Happy to be proven wrong, though...
EDIT: I'll be damned, Wikipedia says there was a DOHC 16-valve 2.5L I know Wikipedia is not guaranteed to be accurate on any given subject but I'd think it odd if someone added this and it wasn't true...
| Wikipedia wrote: | 944 S
In 1987, the 944 S was introduced. The 944S featured a normally aspirated, dual overhead cam 16 valve 190 PS (140 kW; 187 hp) version of the 2.5 litre engine. This marked the first use of four valve per cylinder heads in the 944 series. Performance was quoted as 0 – 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.8 seconds and 230 km/h (140 mph) top speed.
Dual air bags were optional on the 944S, as was ABS. |

I reckon some beyond-reasonable-doubt "proof" would be original Porsche marketing material... _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

I've never heard anything unusually bad about the DOHC engines (but haven't thoroughly researched it either). The only downside I can see to the 944S engine is that there weren't as many of them produced, so parts (new or used) may be a bit harder to come by with the requisite price impact. But I wouldn't hesitate to go the DOHC route due to reliability concerns. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
