Well I just couldn't wait til xmas. This summer has been a hard one for our family. First with me dealing with colon cancer and now my dad battling stage 4 brain cancer, spirits have been a little down.
Many years ago, 36 to be exact, my dad had a 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 and had to sell it when I was born. Dad has always wanted to find another one someday as that was his all time favorite car ever. So....I found one. Had it shipped from St. Louis to Illinois today. He is at MD Anderson cancer center and knows nothing of this. Got it off the trailer, detailed it and have it stashed at a neighbor's house til they get home tonite. This thing is a monster. Numbers matching and freshly restored and even the same color as his old one. So here in about 2 hours I'm going to show up in a Santa suit and surprise him with it. I can't freakin wait, he's gonna shit his pants. And then probably cry .
Here's a couple pictures of his new baby. Wish me luck!!

FYI the BOSS 351 cars where just as fast as the CJ cars. That 351c depending on the rear gears should scoot down the road. _________________ 1994 VW Golf sport rally cross beast

Man that was awesome. He had NO clue. I knocked on his door and he didn't even recognize me in my Santa suit. Then when he did I said "I've heard you've been a good boy so Santa wanted to give you an early present". He just kept saying what are you doing here? When I moved out of the way he saw the car. He said whose is that? That's sweet. When I told him it was his, tears started streaming. He almost fell on the driveway trying to run down to it.
There isn't much more of a better feeling than to bring that much joy to someone especially when they always do for others first. He's always done everything for me and it was soooo cool to do something for him.
Even though he's not supposed to be driving, 10 mins after drooling over it he said, "let's go". We both looked at mom and she said "oh yea like I'm gonna be the one that says no!!". He was like a kid with a new toy, smiles and tears the whole time
He must of went out to the garage 5 times that night just to sit in it and
stare.
And with all the crap we've been thru this summer, this was definitely a highlight. _________________ Michael
