I've been meaning to get some new pics, maybe this weekend. Still doing body work, most of the car is now in epoxy.

Spent lots of time getting the body lines sharp, door shut lines flush.

Finished the inside of the rear wheel wells.

Welded all unused holes and smoothed spot weld holes on the firewall. Added a brace for clutch master.

Cut off the front crossmember in front of the radiator, welded in a 1x2x.125 rectangular tube in its place so the intercooler can sit further in away from bumper.

Duplicated 951S front frame stiffeners.

Filled holes in Euro rear bumper where the rubber strip used to be. Bumper wasn't close to fitting the car, I extended the leading edges to meet the body flange and added a few inches to the bottom leading edge so it wraps around and under to look like the original GTS bumper.

Fit the GTR mirrors.

Now working on rear fender flares, making new flanges. I might have to widen them so the 996 wheels dont rub.

Thats all for now.

Thanks guys! Not really high dollar, the intercooler is a ebay part that guys on Rennlist have used. Turbo price wasnt bad at all.

If your car has been stripped to bare metal chances are your body lines are no longer sharp.

To sharpen body lines you need to run a strip of tape one side of the body line. An experienced body guy can run the tape by eye, I cant. I snapped a chalk line from one end to the other and used that for guide for tape.

Using a 4" spreader, spread a skim coat along the bottom edge of the tape, thicker that the tape. when dry sand with a long board, until your even with the thickness of the tape and blended with body. Peel tape off and mask side you just finished and repeat the above. Peel tape and you should have a straight sharp line front to back. Touch up as needed but use tape or you will round over line.

When i spray the polyester filler I'll spray a little more along the body lines and block sand with the same procedure.

aahhh yes thats a neat trick.. My NA is wearin a few coats and the lines are not as sharp as Id like I think. When Im doing my gt conversion this spring Ill have togo that route.. As for high doller items .. they are kind of.. theres aset of scropted 951 handles goin on ebay
right now & getgting ready to end soon.. for 135.00.. Sure Ive thought about bidding. For me to do that right now is just crazy. So its easy to say there high dollare items.

Updated pics.

I was planning to use a 931 front valance but the IC hoses covered the outside grills. Rather than a figerglass vented valance, made my own in steel.

Hole cut out

Insert welded in

Epoxy primed

New front crossmember/IC mount and oil cooler mount

Smoothed firewall, no ac line holes and removed bracket.

Rear flare teaser

Should have shell from firewall back in 2k polyurethane primer this weekend.

Still have to fit headlight buckets and finish front bumper.

One more......

Since the original GTS used hood pins, I removed the latch and will use Aerocatch locking hood pins. Can also see the 951 Cup replica frame to strut tower braces.
