Well, it is loosely based on an old Mercedes platform I believe. Yeah, Chrysler's cars have sucked for quite a while. Hopefully now that they've got some Italian going, they'll suck less (though likely still not be as reliable, heh) Otherwise it may end up like the Maserati TC by Chrysler, ugh.... (though the optional Cosworth designed DOHC 2.2, intercooled turbo motor was a peach in an otherwise rotten tree)
Rented a new Ford Fiesta recently and I was impressed by it, especially when compared to the Chevy Aveo POS that I had before that. _________________ Stefan

If you are a member of this board and enjoy driving your 924 then you are likely to prefer the handling characteristics of European cars. So no surprise that the larger US-produced barges aren't liked by all here. I have only driven in Michigan and California and the road surfaces there were in terrible condition - huge potholes and longitudinal "waves". I wouldn't fancy driving my 932 over there.
What are the roads like in other states?
In Europe (maybe ROW as well?) in the 80s we had a monstrosity called the Alfa Arna. This was a joint venture between Alfa Romeo and Nissan but rather than playing to their strengths, Alfa did the electrics and Nissan did the styling! Lord knows why. Needless to say it was a disaster. Let's hope Chrysler don't make the same mistake. _________________ 1981 931 series2 Euro spec |

The southeastern region of the US has some great road, some of the best in the country! Check out www.tailofthedragon.com for a couple of my favorites. US 129 is good in both Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennesse! 75 out of Helen has some great curves and pavement but the curvy section is only a couple of miles. _________________ 81 924 N/A

yeah, but the cars that are originally being bitched about are based on German and Malaysian platforms _________________ Stefan

Yeah - that's definitely so.
And ptheskil is 110% right about MI roads... it's utterly pathetic, the condition of our roads. Of course, even if they were paved properly, they'd still be mostly flat and boring. But driving the 931 around here sucks, a lot of the time, due to frost heaves etc... _________________ Vaughan Scott
