Most likely.
Put a new belt on and start it up or just tear the head off. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

No put a belt on and get a wrench on the crank.
After pulling the spark plugs, check if it will turn over a full revolution without binding. Just keep pulling on the wrench after placing it on the crank bolt. it you can do that (You pull clockwise.)
excercising all the valves theres no bent valves. Though Id say you knocked it up and bent some valves. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

+1 to all mentioned above. At the shop, I always run a compression test, and cylinder leakdown test (gauges are cheap to buy now). At least with the leakdown test, you will be able to get a head start on knowing which valves are definitely bent (if any are). _________________ 1987 924S |

If your mech knows what he is doing, that is a kick ass price. _________________ Toofah King Bad

That price for labor is too good to be true, or he has never worked on a 931!
It should be $150 just to unbolt the turbo from the exhaust manifold! _________________ "Never get out of the boat. Absolutely goddamn right. Unless you are goin' all the way."

Weren't 931 valves expensive?
For that price, I would let him do it.
I remember paying more than that for just the head gasket set alone... _________________ "Rule: Turbo's make torque, and torque makes fun." (C. Bell)

I think most people use Victor Reinz or w/e...
I'd take this opportunity to install a MLS cometic head gasket and ARP hardware.. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |
