I have a euro rear already, probably going something up front to make room for the FMIC that is already there. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

I'm looking to get things together this weekend.
I have a release bearing I got, that is technically used but has about <5000 miles on it.
Is there any way to tell for sure if the bearing can be reused or is it something that should be replaced anyway?
They are not really something that goes bad often are they? The one I pulled out of my car performed flawlessly. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

So the engine is back out so I can install the bellhousing/clutch/flywheel/etc.
I do have an issue now tho...
Timing belt had to be removed, flywheel was already off and now I need to reset the timing belt..
How do I get everything lined up without wrecking anything?
Is it possible to set the timing w/o removing the head?
I should be able to check the piston height in each cylinder.. If it is mid-way up the cylinder in all 4 cylinders I should be able to reset the camshaft so it is in the position it would be at TDC ( I vaguely remember there being a way to check based on the cam lobe position? )
After the cam is lined up properly, I should be able to set the bottom half to TDC w/o damage?
F*ck me, might as well just pull the head and rebuild the block with some custom pistons..
Also this is all due to the locating pin on the crank pulley shearing off.. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |
