hnahaha that comment under the video.
That dude doesn't need a dyno, he can hear how much power an engine makes.
wow. 250 hp from a N/A 8v engine.
I'm really interested in the specs too. I know the video but I don't think it's super special. ITB's make engines sound cool... mine too, but it didn't have any hp more than stock I guess. _________________ "Rule: Turbo's make torque, and torque makes fun." (C. Bell)

You need nothing more than just a radical cam, high static compression ratio to compensate for big overlap and get decent dynamic CR. And most important thing: radical head surgery to straighten the ports, smaller stem valves with lighter valvetrain (lifters, perhaps better springs, not sure if needed with say 7mm valve stems, =valves are already MUCH lighter then).
Expected redline will be around 7000-7500 and if you keep the car NA, it is better to use lighter rods and pistons, it will increase the longevity due to smaller tensile loads.
Of course, install a decent standalone and tune it also
We have a Super 1600 race-class here in Baltic states, they exact 180-190 hp easily even with carbs and non-controlled ignition from 8V VW Golf engines. And those engines do not have even cross-flow heads. _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp
