Anyone else see the 3 page (1.5 actual) page write up on our beloved 924 in the Fall 2011 edition of Hagerty Magazine - pgs 52,54,55 - the "Market Watch" section, interesting?
A little history and a little analysis of recent auctions (ebay and craigslist sales) and a graph showing an increase of resale value over the last 5 years - although the 928 is included in the statistics. Overall it gives a positive spin on the 924 and even makes a case for going out and finding one.
Pretty cool to see that from Hagerty - makes me happy have insurance with 'em.

Hello all, 1st post on this board. The Inari Silver/Onyx Green 931 in the article is mine, I drove it from St. Louis to its new home in Allentown Pa, where it shares a garage with a 4-time PCA national parade preservation class winner Mocha Schwartz 1979 NA 924 as well as a 1983 Lotus Turbo Esprit. I do love 924's in all forms, really caught my imagination as a 10 year old in the late 70's walking through Holbert's lot in Warrington PA. Watching D-Prod cars win in SCCA events during the same period certainly helped the addiction along too. This particular 931 found its place next to my parade winner due to its low documented mileage, originality and options mix (M471, LSD, 2-tone).
My drive home from St. Louis in the 931 will be featured in an upcoming article also, I'm just not at liberty to say where yet. I tried to post pics earlier, but my feeble mind failed. If any 924 fiends find themselves in eastern Pa though, please drop me a line at goto11@ptd.net and come on over while we talk about the car that saved Porsche in the 70'sand drink Swabian beer.
Thanks for the bandwidth while I resurrected an old thread, I've been a lurker on this board for many years,

Hi Vaughn and Cedric, thanks guys.
Cedric, I make it to Stockholm about 4x/year for work, beautiful city. I'd love to see your cars, ... we both have a NA 1979 and a Turbo 1980 each! Gotta love those snail-shell gearboxes.
I just found a shot off of the internet of my Mocha 1979 when I won my class at the Hemmings 2009 Concours D'Elegance of new England. the car was then also in the Oct. 2009 Hemmings that year. This a pic they took as the show field was assembling.
http://www.hemmings.com/hmn/stories/2009/10/01/hmn_feature9.html#PhotoSwipe1320167839334 EDIT, now that I've posted it, I see that you'll have to scroll through the ones along the bottom to get to it ... Art
It's an honest 24,000 mile car with all service history, bought from its original owner, who did put it in this site's registry, but without a pic I think.
Here's the 1979 and the 1980 turbo from my Facebook page:

...and now I see that you have to log into Facebook in order to see the other shots. Sorry for the bad internet decorum, guys. I'll photobucket or Flickr them, then re-post a link, unless I'm missing an easier way.
You can see that the internet is not my strong point.
Again, sorry,
Art Mason

Looked on FB and seems like really sweet cars! 79+80 seems to be the thing to have. The dogleg is nice, really need a LSD on the track though. Why didnt the first owner by that, it wasnt even that expensive option ..
If you come to sthlm (when the snow and cold has gone away) drop me a pm via here or FB and ill let you have a drive in my 931 on some twisty roads. Judging by that pic on hemmings you should be able to press yourself down in the racing seat (big people have a tendency not to get in the seat ).
edit: you seem to have a really good taste for cars, the esprit is stunning, I always wanted one but i probably wont ever dare to buy one. Aiming for an elise or equiv to back up the porschesm cheap as chips in GBR .. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo
