Hi folks I have got my hands on another 924 and a 944.
I had my first one a few years ago but paid good money for it and never had to do much with it bar a set of wheels and messing about with the aftermarket immobilizer.

My new one is a project but I haven't got pictures yet but if you picture a dirty white na with a red wing then there you go

I also have a white 944 that I'm breaking because the sills are rotted through so i'm debating on doing the 944 conversion after I have the 24 running properly. The site looks great and everyone seems friendly so you will find me in the tech section quite a lot till it works

Howdy all. Just got my new project home. A 1980 Porsche 924 Turbo. She has 87k miles, runs like a top, has a great interior (well, except for the dash) but needs some suspension & body lovin.

She is also my first Porsche. I sort of feel like I'm graduating as I've only tinkered with Nissan 240sxs before. Similar cars, but so many things that required lots of tinkering to get right already come that way on the Porsche.

Plans are to get everything back to working stock shape, and drive her for a bit. After that, who knows.

OK I did the 2 homework assignments and I hope there isn't a test because I didn't understand any of it. But I feel I have valid reasons why this is so.

1. I'm female. I simply don't have the extra gene that would allow me to look at all of the metal and wiring underneath the hood and make sense of it. Same goes for the stuff underneath.
2. I have a Porsche guy who does all of that for me.

All of that notwithstanding, I have a profound respect for those of you who do.
My daily driver is a lovely 944S2 cab, Guards Red as all cabriolets should be. The love of my life, though is my 1988 924S SE that I bought for a track car. I seriously beefed up the suspension (OK I had my Porsche guy seriously beef up the suspension), added some Hoosiers and turned it into a beast around the turns. I'm usually in a run group with Caymen S, Boxster S, 911s and various muscle cars and hold my own with all of them. I'm finally able to make sense of what this wonderful little momentum car is telling me and can't wait for winter to be over.

So go ahead and give me your best shot, guys. I can take it.

Hello all, picked up a 1979 924 two days ago, hoping to getting it running and cleaned up soon. Here it is now.

And here is the interior.

Just one thing. It would seem the link to the fuel system explanation is borked. Anyone have another?

Not sure. I picked it up from a tow company that had taken possession of it.
So i haven't talked to the original owner(he'd have a lot of explaining to do). Would make sense wouldn't it? Tartan interior, lighter red front and rear bumper. Nice paint compared to the condition of the interior, and badges removed.
How might i confirm this?

Well it looks like there is red paint peaking from under your carpet?
Steering wheel is a plus and your rims have the polished lips;
Are there any traces of black paint to be found on the wheels?
A rear roll bar wasn't very common on the 924 back then,
so have a peak under your car!

On the inside of the rear of the trunk, between the rear lights,
alll 924s carry a original factory paper-sticker that holds the
Porsche Manufacturing Codes for the featured option package…

Cheers,
Harm.

Everything is checking out to make it seem like a it was born a Sebring.
Also I did some digging and found this copy of the fuel system guide.

Aloha everyone,

My names Cale and I just sold my mk2 Golf GTI to pick up this 1987 924S. I loved my golf but the "stanced" or pan scarping life just wasn't cutting it for me. Not many euro lovers out here in Hawaii let alone Porsche drivers but I'm loving every inch of my new "old" car and look forward to learning/building new things!! And please go easy on me, its my first non-FF car and more importantly its my first Porsche
