So I bought a 1981 931 a few weeks ago. It had been sitting for a bit but was run last fall. I changed the plugs, cap and rotor, new fuel injectors and drained the fuel tank etc. but she still wont start. The PO has put one of those clear in-line little fuel filters on the return line up near the rear trailing arms and after turning it over for a good half minute there is no fuel in the filter. Nada. The PO had said that to get the car to start last fall he removed the fuel line going from the fuel dist to the WUR and she started. Could it be the WUR ? I dont have a CIS tester and although I do have 3 spare WUR's they are all 1980 part numbers. So any suggestions on what to do next ?...

DITC system is going to be the big concern with the S2 cars. If it's not functioning correctly, you won't get spark or fuel.

I would suggest starting here with your diagnostics:

Also, this thread:

Good luck!

Yes I was looking at that thread earlier. I need to get an hour to myself to look at that main DITC unit in the car. I pulled the plug from the little black box on the fenderwell and it had water in it. Frick. left it off so it would dry. Sometime this week after work I will begin some methodical checks of the system. Thankfully I got a brand new CIS tester in a car/parts lot I just bought. Thanks Dan.
