I found a euro 924 in the junkyard, not sure of the year but it had a point distributor in it, 78 or 79? I got the euro bumpers off it with the lights for $60! Anyway my question is are the cyc heads the same between the euro and a 1980 US car. Or is there an advantage to one or the other. my 80n/a is my daily driver and it would be nice to rebuild the euro head and just switch the two to minimize down time. The 80n/a's valve seals cant be there anymore because it smokes like crazy when I start it and I'm sure a valve job would kill it. But I would hate to lose any HP with another head.
Thanks in advance for any info. _________________ 1980 924 N/A Everyday Driver

I don't believe the heads are different. The block is different with higher compression pistons, which is worth nabbing since that is where the missing power is. There might also be a difference in distributor timing curve, but I don't know for sure. _________________ Stefan

I did get the head, cam and followers all look good. I was thinking of pulling the engine but #2 piston had a hole in it. Head looks fine but not sure what happened there. _________________ 1980 924 N/A Everyday Driver
