Just got my new Blaupunk CD player in the mail...and i spent a good hour and a half trying to get it in. Im not having any major problems with the wiring as it came with a harness and everything. Just my problem is getting the actual headunit into the dash now. Also its starting to become incredibly frustrating because the damn antenna wire keeps coming out of the plug. Is their anyway to extend the antenna wire as its barley long enough to pull out and plug in. My quuestion really is how did you guys go about cramming all the wires into such a small place.

Also the speaker wires that connect into the fader...ive figured out which ones belong to the left and right speakers, but how do i determine which are for the rear and which are for the front. They are yellow, red, white and black plugs if i remember correctly.

As for your antenna plug, pep boys does sell little extensions, i could also pull mine through a little. Dunno bout the 924s seeing as how i have seen some 924s witht he antenna in the rear, but my wires comes out next to my clutch pedal(mine is on the front driverside fender). I could also plug my antenna in after the console and everything was installed already. Also watch that the wire is catching on anything, cause that will cause probs too.

How did you plug in the antenna after you secured the headunit in place? I can get the headunit in about 3/4 of the way before it gets caught up. Im not sure what is causing it to get stuck...but im assuming its the mass of wires that is behind it (its logical). Can i pull back the carpeting against the console for this? I tried doing that before but its stuck on their pretty good. If i could move the carpeting that would also make it a little easier to move the wire around to make the headunit fit.

You may need to rerun some of the wiring to get it out of your way. Just a thought though I heard that the instaliation rails had some trick that was used to prevent removal of the radio (anti theft). I think there is a tab or some interlocking peice that maybe getting in the way. If you removed the original mounting hardware this couldn't be your problem.

Hm...Roger, are you talking about the black rails that are right in the center? The headunit gets sandwitched in between the rails i guess. But maybe that top most rail is blocking the unit from sliding in all the way. I will attempt to get it in tomorrow after school when their is light out (it aint easy holding a maglight inbetween your shoulder and your cheek while trying to wrestle the wires around in a opening that is a little larger than 1 inch). I have to somehow managage to squeeze in all these wires...

I was picturing rails on either side, doesn't look like you have them. You can remove the entire center console so you have more room. It is easy only four screws and the shift boot need to be removed.

How can i check to see if the antenna wire is still conectted to the actual antenna. I can follow the wire up under the dash (by the brake and gas pedals) but from their i lose it. Do i need to look for something in the front left wheel well?

This seems like a obvious question...but i still have much to learn about this car.

If you had a clutch in your car. it goes intot he wheel well up and to the left of where you clutch would be. u have to peel back some carpeting.

Use a VOM and check for continuity between the antenna and the center post of the antenna wire.
