Does anyone have the oil pump pulley out of the car for an actual measurement of the circumference ?
I need it to make some accurate timing marks for distributor curving.
I'm referring to the very inside oil pump pulley diameter at the crank.
I'll post my marks, measurements and the formula once I get it.

I can do it for you tomorrow, which pulley would you like, the 3 groove the 2 groove or the single groove, I have all three out of cars. I will be running a single groove myself. _________________ Life is to short to be looking for something? |

Mikri - I think he's referring to the toothed pulley that the timing belt actually goes around. _________________ '79 Eurospec 931 |

No I am looking for the diameter of the most inner pulley closest to the crank with the TDC groove on it. _________________ 1978 924 95 mile daily driver.

Ok,augidog, I just happen to have my motor in my living room, the outside diameter is 6 inches; the inside diameter is 5 inches as best as you can measure. I actually have the same pulley and can measure the small inside one if you need to. That one actually can increase low end acceleration, I'm not sure to what degree but I got that tidbit from Alex Roy. I know thats an old muscle car performance trick. If you need the circumfrence it's, diameter X 3.14 . _________________ I have a 78 n\a currently under restoration. |

Thanks to all.
timing marks for curving and full advance testing as follows.
5"1/4 straight across
1 degree =.045
2=.091
3=.13 =1/8inch
4=.18
5=.225
6=.27 = 1/4
7=.31
8=.36
9=.40 =3/8
10=.45
11=.49 =1/2
12=.54
13=.58
14=.63 =5/8
15=.67
16=.72
17=.76 =3/4
18=.81
19=.85
20=.90 =7/8
21=.94
22=.99 =1"
23=1.03
24=1.08
25=1.12
26=1.17 =1 1/8
27=1.21
28=1.26 = 1 1/4
29=1.30
30=1.35
31=1.39 =1 3/8
32=1.44
33=1.48 =1 1/2
34=1.53
