Well as you probably noticed I havent been on the board much as I no longer sit infront of a computer all day, I am still rebuilding brake calipers and it is fine, it is easy work but I am now going to be starting to do other work in the shop after i just grabbed the oxy acetaline torch and fixed a couple broken bleeders on my own, oh well more work to do

but here is the bad crapola, I had been driving the 928, I was parked in a parking stall at my house just put it into reverse, hadnt even exited the parking stall and I was clipped in the rear, the bumper cover was cracked and then rear pass side lens was broken (just reverse light lens) i found out there was $1250 worth of damage from that, then 3 days later I was at a dead stop at a rear light and someone freaking rear ends me, ok buddy r u color blind, no damage thankfully was inflicted from this he just hit my bumperetts (thank god they are still on there), then 1 week later I was driving along and a rock flew up and hit an oil cooler line for the auto tranny and pissed out all the fluid I was out of cell range at the time but put the car in nuetral and coasted I just made it into range and I called my friend by the time he got out it was around 10:30pm, we took all the visable and non bolted down stuff out and then took my friend that was with me home and dropped the stuff off at my house, but as this new job is aways away we went to abby as I was kinda staying with friends, however by the time we got to there house it was about 1:00am and they wouldnt answer there door, so we went back out to my house to crash there but I had no way to get to work the next day, and i had planned to go out fix the line and hope to hell that no damage had occoured to the tranny, my friend (that wouldnt answer the door and I work with) called around 9:00 am asking where I was so i told her what happened with the car and she said "so you are not coming in today" argh, so then I go back to sleep and I get a call about 15 min later from the cops asking if i knew where the car was, I told them where it was, and they then informed me that they had the vehicle towed, I had to ask why and they said "someone called in reporting that there was a vehicle with busted windows up the road so we sent a truck", so i am thinking yah thanks you couldnt even go and see the car or inspect it yourself just send a tow truck, yah thanks, this is our tax dollar hard at work. so I manage to get to abby that day and spend the week with a friend carpooling, I manage to get out on fri right as the place was about to close to get the insurance papers so I can get the 924 on the road, i walk in tell the guy what one is mine and he says yah as far as we are conserned it is a complete write off, I get to go and see the vehicle and they smashed the windows which that is about $8-$10k just there, then all the lenses around the car each rear tail light is $220 from Porsche (if even avalible) then the fog lights are about $300 + from Porsche then the head lights are $250 for the pair with the bulbs I had, they also slashed all 4 tires 245/50ZR16 and front 225/55ZR16, they then also smashed the front fenders to beyond repair they cant be pounded out they would have to be replaced (dont even wanna know what porsche wants for one of them) they also hit the hood 5-6 times, and every other panel was hit but could have been fixed, they also then hit the C pillar and hatch, they hit this hard enough that the hatch would have to be replaced, and I dont know how they would fix the C pillar, they then also hit the A pillar and moved it in about 1/2-1 inch and as far as i am cocerned that is structural and am not sure how they would repair that short of cut and weld but then there is no rust coating, they also hit midway above the door and roof so the door would need to be replaced as well, then they stole the alpine V12 500watt RMS amp I just installed 2 days earlier and was bolted down above the battery, and the head unit even though i had the face plate. so I am waiting to see what ICBC says but there is over $20k in damages to the vehicle,
so i then got the 924 on the road, I hadnt had a chance to fully tune it from after doing the head gasket and taking it to my parents due to time, so i then adjusted it, it ran ok but still wasnt 100%, then the next day it started running like crappola and so i decided to do a compression check cyl #3 and 4 are dead gain WTF I just did the gasket and did everything right but I didnt remove the head, so i had my mom bring down the spare head from there house as I figured that maybe the head became warped (no idea why) so she brings it down and I pulled the head and everything else in that area and turn the head over, cyl #3 and 4 both exhaust valves are missing a nice little chunk outta them, thankfully I had the other head, I put the gaskets on checked everything 3 times and put it back together and then set the timing adjusted the valves and then fired it up and readjusted the timing still wasnt running right so i then popped off the viewing window and soaked it down abit with WD40 and then fired it up and reset the timing and it is back to perfect, FINALLY, so I then came home and typed this up.
so can anyone compair to this?

Those guys should all have their cars and licences destroyed and be forced to walk for the rest of their natural lives from their cell block to the excersize yard...
The only thing i can compare to was being out in the city celebrating after a friends formal and getting back to my car and finding that someone had drivin a motorbike over the car, thankfully this was before i got my porsche. The bonnet front and rear windscreens, roof and boot were all caved in or broken.
Ace... thanks retard, you are tops...
Sorry to hear about your trouble. Hope the insurance cover you for a new porsche.

Man, that sucks!

Grab all the money you can get from the insurance company, then maybe you could convert it to a track car?

Let's see, fiberglass fenders, lexan windows, fiberglass hood, racing slicks, racing seats, you get the idea.

Lizard,

That's what we call buzzards luck. This really sucks. If they ever catch those envious b**t**ds, they need to be put so deep in jail, they have to pump sunshine to them. Hopefully the insurance will come through. Keep us posted.

Dennis

I will definatly be buying the car back from them, however I am thinking i am just going to get a motorbike with some of the money seing as how hi gas is right now, and then put the 928 engine and 4 pot suspension into the 924 rolling chassis I have, but we will see and i will keep you guys posted

Very sad to hear... my condolences...

I've never understood people that get off on gratuitous destruction. Obviously their parents neglected an opportunity or two to smack them upside the head!

Very sorry to hear about the vandalism to your car. It’s an all to common occurrence here in New York City. I am not trying to sound flakey, but when bad things happen to me I try and focus on the positives. It sounds like you have a few positives in your life: your friend who came out at night to drive you home; other friend who calls in the morning because she is worried about you not showing up at work; and, a mom who actually knows what a cylinder head is and is willing to transport it to you.
Hey, things could be a lot worse: you could be an Iraqi detainee being raped and tortured US and UK troops.
Best of luck.

good luck with the negotiations, ive been there, its a pita... but if you provide them with every reciept you have, including estimated labor costs for the installation and repairs (even if you did them yourself, you should still be entitled to credit for labor at a reasonable hourly rate..if you can copy a current labor rate book for this purpose it will help) , and at least three comparative value cars currently for sale , hopefully theyll offer you a reasonable settlement.. dont be afraid to turn down their first offer, they always start low.. when i went through it the final offer was over four times their inital offer..still wasnt full replacement, but it was close... well be rooting for you!
