Look I know it is Porsche and I know you have to pay a lot for the brand but, come on.. After sending my turbo to a revision comp. they told me it would be about 900 euro's (1 euro's is i believe 1,20 dollars) to rebuild it and that they would have to re-use my old exhaust housing wich is torn on the inside, so they couldn't give any assurance that it wouldn't break down again, (And Me not wanting to remove the turbo again after maybe 10000 km or if i put on a second hand still have to pay for revision), called my local dealer for the parts, Guess what that baby costs brand new, a whapping 3000 euro's, not to mention the wastegate, another 1450 euro's all excl. taxes another 19%. so total replacement would cost 5300 euro's, that's more than the car is worth without a good turbo.
So you see porsche is expensive but hey, are they nuts?? Thru a buddy of mine located a brand new one with transport damage on the intake housing, for 500 euro's, waste gate is being revised by a friends friend for free, so guess who's happy today !!!!! |
