This is the car Kenodog and I imported down from Canada, It is from Vancouver Island the previous owner paid $2700 for it and only had it for 9 months and probally doesn't know smack about it. This you notice right off the bat is the weber throttle body and the knock eliminator. This car has an unusual sound for a n/a 924 and seems to have unleashed ome hidden power somewhere within? I have has several 924's with various engines from stock to euro. throttle bodies and headers to head work and this one seems to have a bit more power than the usual 924. And it has a bad trannie, so I am curious if anyone knows anyone that has owned this car or the builder.

Looks kind of interesting. I wonder why the knock eliminator is there since it isn't neccessary unless the car was running boost or really high compression. Have you tried to run some compression tests on it? If it has high compression pistons the compression should show up as being higher than the stock numbers. Are there any signs of recent engine modifications that put it back to stock?

The seems to be no apparent engine modifications others than those already meantioned, it is very clean, The mileage is in kpm, odometer reads 14575, and is working.
The bottom of the motor has the usual signs of oil and dirt. There is a canadian vehicle sticker on the car, So it is a U.S./CA car VIN# 9249204918
And from what I can tell doesn't have any importance to performance. It is a mystery, That probally won't reveal itself until the head is removed.

agreed with doing the compression test, also take the valve cover off and inspect the cam, could be aftermarket

A Paeco Motor, even though I don't doubt one day I will get one of these. It would be quite funny after selling off a good part of my goodies, I would get something better.

Is it from the Victoria area? That's where my car came from, and a previous owner has built it for around 10.8:1 compression by my math, definately faster than the average 924.

I'd be willing to bet your compression readings will be around 185. That's what mine reads, and I believe the camshaft is aftermarket or a regrind. Seems to pull hard from around 4000pm on, has a bit of a lumpy idle, etc.

Any other modifications such as the exhaust?

I'm not getting the latest in muffler designs... The other day I heard a moped approaching, looked up just in time to catch a squatty Honda as it buzzed by about 3 inches off the ground. It made me jealous though because I thought all day and could not come up with a joke that was as funny as that car.

Having been down with a cold the last few days, I haven't had time to tear into the car yet, hope i fel better son to get my hands dirty. One thing other than the exhaust sound the car does seem to rev quicker than normal. Which in my experinece says they may have been some crank work. This car was picked up on Victoria Island, by Kenodog. I am getting anxious to pull the motor and see what is up and then drop it into a better car, as the car it is in now is wrecked fairly good.

Thought I would send alittle update on this, Keno and I pulled the knock sensopr out, didn't really look like it was connected all the way some wires where conected others where not. So I pulled the valve cover off and and the intake. Cam looks stock, But it is still in the head and until I pull and measure it, I won't know if that is true or not. The head has had a Port and Polish job done though, and that is always nice to see. I have been sick again, so haven't gotten the head off yet, maybe on chrstimas since I'll be here all by myself, NO kids no girlfriend, just me and the cats. Should finally get something done around here. LOL
Other items that shocked me about this car. Distributor wires exposed, Timing belt so loose, I pulled it off with out loosening it. This thing should not run as good as it does. Can't wait to get the head off. Hard to beleive that a P&P job the throttle body and knock sensor would make the 924 that responsive. Alsp we took the nice sounding exhaust off this car and installed it on the 78 my friend is building still sounds nice but not as it did on the 79. There is more to this more yet to come.
