Hi Group: Just acquired on EBAY - 1986 944 pictured below. Runs real well with 137K on recently stopped odo. Paint is quite good with a fixable dent on each side. Has real nice, clean vinyl burgundy interior. Seller drove it to my lot from Orlando, FL, two hours away. Has 4 new Falken tires. Paid $1,820.00 less $300.00 for dents - $1,520.00 total, delivered. Dick.

Sounds like a pretty good deal! Bet you can't wait to get the dents pulled and have things repainted. Love the '86 phone dials with the different offset. Somehow they always looked better to me with the spokes "inset", rather than flush with the outside of the rims like on later year models.

I paid $2,500 more for my 924 than a mint 944 2 1/2 years ago. I still think of the reason I let it go. < Not a very good reason.

From what I can see of the interior, it looks like an 86.5 which makes it an even better deal. Do you have any idea when the belts were changed last?

Hi Dennis: The sellers mechanic drove the car here with him & said he changed out the injectors, T-belt, water pump, etc. Dick.

Sounds like he spent nearly as much on maintenance as what you paid. Does the 944 belts require retensioning like the 928's?

Hi Dennis: Doubt that he spent that much. His mechanic was also a buddy, room mate & frequent driver of the car, so it was pretty much the cost of parts. Do not know about belt tensioner status. Dick.
