Ok ok...this won't be TOO soon since I'm still researching other things....but I have come to this. My friend (who does custom turbo kits) said I should turbo the porsche. I know this is going to be alot of money, but hell, for a light ass car with the kick of a turbo, I'd do it. I will need the turbo, intercooler, upgraded fuel, air, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm hoping to get a kick ass turbo that'll make the engine push somwhere around 230hp. How much power can the stock engine handle? Can you guys help me if you guys did a turbo job?

OK Jonathan, the first advice you are going to get from this board is "Sell your car and buy a 931!". Assuming you will completly ignore this sage advice the first thing you need to decide is if your engine will take this abuse without some sort of freshening up or a complete overhaul. ALso to reach the HP goals you are looking at you will probably need to look seriously at some sort of fuel and spark management plus the possible use of the 931 head. These engines are not very easy to "hop up".

I'll go first!

SELL YOUR CAR AND GET A 931!

Unless you're a true hot-rodder (in which case, kudos to you) or you can get it done effectively for nothing or at least extremely cheaply, it is a complete waste of money to put a turbo on an NA car! It will cost you more than a 931!

And the Turbo's come with upgraded suspension and brakes as part of the package. Less money to spend. And they've usually got more luxury items like leather seats and power windows and air-conditioning, etc... which the NA's often miss out on.

Be patient. See jaxrepo or take a look in the Cars and Parts Wanted/For Sale section. You'll find a good 931 at a good price, no doubt.

Still, a-week-and-a-bit ago, there was an engine, turbo, snail shell trans-axle, CIS fuel distributors (2), extra intake and more advertised for $500. That's a pretty good deal if it's in good condition...

Oh...sorry I forgot about the 931. Haha I really don't want to sell this car, but I wouldn't mind swapping the engine for a turbo engine, a few quick questions, is the turbo engine EFI? Does it has a different tranny, if so, can it link up to the stock 4 speed? Are the motor mounts different?

No, the stock 931 engine is not EFI, it still has CIS, but it's components are not interchangeable with the 924. The engine mounts are the same as used on the 924. The 931 transmissions are different than the stock 924, as are the torque tubes/drive shafts - beefier in order to handle the additional hp and torque.
