It is cold out now and the car would not have a fast idle when first started. So, Haynes book I go, review leads my to check the Auxiliary Air regulator -pg 85. I took it off the car and took it apart. The bi-metallic strip works fine, ohms are a little high - 48 not 30 like the book calls for. I could not get the shutter to close as the little arm on it was broke, so I took it apart, made my own shutter. Put it all together and the car now had a fast idle - too fast ended up around 2000RPM, found this out on my way to work. So on the way home the car seems to be running rich - too much gas - started to chug a big. Get home and smells like a lot of gas. Took valve apart put old pcs back in still same problem. So it seems like the car is loading up on gas, I make minor adjustments to the air sensor unit but still the car is loading up with gas - test drive it has no power and back fires. Suggestions? _________________ 79 924 NA |

the AAV isnt going to cause a too rich condition, I would recommend that something else has changed, you can however run the car w/o a AAV, just remove it and plug the 2 lines that would run into it. _________________ 3 928s, |
