The test is to hook up a pump to my car and run the pump for exactly 30 seconds. A good pump has to deliver 750 cc of gas in that amount of time.
Sound allright. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

If it can't deliver 900 CC's of fuel in 23 seconds it is junk. That's it, not a goddamn drop less than 900 cubic centimeters. _________________ Dan Flanagan--2002 VW Jetta TDI, 83 Mercedes 300D,83 Mercedes Euro-240D

for a few seconds before I jam on the pump. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

you can close it with vicegrips between putting on fuel pumps. _________________ 1977 Porsche 924 red and READY! |

The flow volume test that is outlined in the shop manuals measures the output at the fuel distributor head return line in a given time, NOT the volume that the pump displaces directly from it. The line size, line bends and other components in the system introduce restrictions that have to be taken into account. _________________ '79 Eurospec 931 |

A pump ran for one minute should yield...
1.5 litres. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na
