After a good drive home I parked my car and when ready to lock the driverside door I felt some flaky stuff... It turns out there is a hole in the door underneath the doorhandle, with large pieces of paint missing.
It appears somebody has tried to pry open the doorhandle . It was parked for one night in a small village in a rural part of Holland. Really the last place you would think this would happen (In this part of the country there are still some people who wear wooden shoes).
But what an idiot!! Who would want to steal a 20+ year old car.
I am still really, really angry, couldnt he just have broken a window??
Fortunately the car has all-risk insurance. I am wondering now what kind of repair is acceptable. The hole is approx 5x10 mm underneath the door handle and you can move the handle a little bit.
Is welding/bending back acceptable ?? Or should they change the door??
Will there be a color difference ?? Car is Alpine White.
One really shitty way to start this new year. |

Sounds like a standard way to get into 924's... A thief damaged my old VW Golf mkII that way then he/she stole my brand new car stereo... I don't remember if I got the door fixed, the damage was almost invisible under the seal for the door handle?
I hope you get your car fixed in a nice way! Good luck!
