Anyone ever remove the automatic shift bezel from a later 924? If so, how do you do it? Checked out Clarks Garage but nothing on there. Could not see how to remove the knob and the bezel will not come off without removing it.

Not sure if I'm referring to the same piece you are, but the process is to detach the leather shift boot from the bezel, and then turn it wrong-side-out over the knob. There should be a clip (or in my case, a very stiff rubber band that replaced the original and now-missing clip) that holds the knob on. Undo the clip or band, remove the knob and shift boot together.
In order to remove the bezel itself, you might need to actually remove the center console, which is covered here (http://www.924.org/techsection/12body.htm#3%20-%20Dashboard%20-%20removal%20and%20installation. I never need to remove the bezel, so that's as far as I can take you. Hope it helps. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
