Watched a very useful UK programme on the Discovery channel yesterday called "Wheeler Dealers". Its basic theme is "rescuing modern classic cars".

What these guys do is go out and buy a cheap "modern classic" which runs well but looks bad and fix it up as cheaply as possible while still doing a good job and then sell it and make a profit (totally ignoring their own labour cost). They also get hold of a mint example of whatever they're fixing up as a comparison.

In the episodes I saw they did a 924 and a Toyota MR2 MkI. The work that they did was not too involved. On the 924 they did some body work, cleaned up the interior, fixed an exhaust problem, fixed up the paint and gave it a simple service and ended up with a really nice looking car.

The real benefit of the programme is that when you see someone doing something that needs to be done on your car you think "yeah, that's not so hard, I can do that".

Check your local guide.

It's a cool show.

And she coldn't be happy with those because she had nothing to wear with them, soo back I go, more shopping, dresses, shoes, girley stuff... Thanks a lot! Now she has her eye on a house! Why I aughtta.... When ever you get around to it, seems like a nice motivation tool if nothing else.

They're into a 2nd series now, slightly bigger budget this time around. They turn a beat up old VW Beetle into a Baha Bug, budget gets blown to sh*t on that one!!
