So who exactly is the leader in this thing?

My only suggestion is, once everyone decides on a logo, is that a online source be used so that a group buy can be pursued. (has anyone figued out for sure if we can use the Porshce name/logo or numbers without infringing on copyrights?) This is a non for profit thing!

All we really have to do is pick a logo and design, then pick whatever color you want.

It can`t be that hard.

Someone with a paypal account can take charge of ordering the tees.
Or maybe, one of these online vendors would be willing to start an account for us. (if enough orders were met) I`m sure there is somone out there willing to make an extra buck.

I'm not sure who will finalize the deal, I created the polls to keep the train of thought moving and I used every suggestion posted. I can call the customink shop and work out details to find the price after everything has been decided as far as what is going on the shirts/ hats, colour, crests, number of words etc.... Then we can see how many guys want to buy the final products. I think I should look around Canada to see if I can find a good place to whip these shirts up as the exchange rate will be cheaper for everyone {USA, Canada, AUS etc...}. 924RACR said he can get confirmation on the use of Porsche trademarks once we have a design. As far as which font to use, how large the letters should be etc... will be alot of detail... a lot! So I have already made samples of shirts with text that is easy to read. None of this squirly twisted writing. I will even attempt a Porsche font later today.

Official cause I'm sayin' it, it's my website, and I am (for the time being) the PCA-recognized Advocate for the PCA 924/931 Register. Not that you wouldn't listen to me anyway.

First of all, lest anyone get the wrong idea, I want you all to understand that I do quite appreciate the enthusiasm with which everyone's approaching this idea. It truly is an idea which is overdue. The shirts, the garage cleaning, they're all perfect examples of how I really ought to have asked for help in the preceding years when all you guys have been trying to offer financial help with the Garage. I guess it just goes to show that I'm still not that great at asking for help! I do also feel like I've let you guys down a bit, in letting things sit stagnant for so long; getting married can do that for ya!

Specific to the subject of shirts. While there's nothing I can realistically do to prevent anyone out there from having shirts printed up saying whatever they want, of course you can get into hot water from PCNA by doing it without PCNA's authorization and using their trademarks/servicemarks.

But everyone needs to be reminded here that we can get such authorization!! Since part of 924.org's existence is the presence as part of PCA, we do benefit from the PCA's association with PCNA for legal use of those trademarks/servicemarks. The only caveat is that such uses must be approved by PCNA through PCA. So what we need to do is have a logo for 924.org (since 924 is a Porsche "Servicemark") that we can put in for approval. To make the shirts, you then put that design on and add whatever other graphics you like - no need for further approval. Then we will be free and clear and legal, without fear.

So I strongly urge you guys to continue to work with us, at the same time as you develop the ideas for the rest of the t-shirt.

This brings up the next point, which has bearing on the t-shirts, the website cleanup, Hershey, and other organized activities. We are going through a transition in leadership of the Register, as I will be stepping down to allow someone with a little more time to take charge and coordinate these activities. I'll refrain from naming the name until it's officially confirmed from PCA National, but I don't expect that to be much more than a formality. Furthermore, rest assured that it's being transferred to someone who you all know and is quite active here. I will continue to stay involved, of course, along with all the others who have been contributing. In fact, we look forward to incorporating the efforts and abilities of those who've shown their interest and giving them an opportunity to contribute even more than they have. So be careful how much you speak up, you might get put in charge of something!

In addition to the aforementioned activities, I hope also that this change will allow us to become more active on a personal, face-to-face level, with much more going on in the way of gatherings now and in the future.

So please to be patient, continue to work with us, and we look forward to the future of a much more active, dynamic, and user-involved 924.org!

Cheers, and thanks again to all of you for making it possible to take this step.
