Took out the air filter from the 924 this morning & found a load of oil & water (orange/brown sludge) sitting in the housing. What is the cause of this?
I'm wondering if it's related to the running problems i'm having, - poor fuel consumption (15mpg), excessive exhaust fumes & a stuttery idle. _________________ meteor silver 1981 924 lux. -UK |

Some oil in the airbox is normal. How much is "some"? I don't know, but the amount I get, I can clean up with a finger (, but my car has an air/oil seperator) - if you're getting enough that you could scoop it up with a cup then that might be more than "some" and could be caused by excessive blow-by resulting in more breathing than the breather can handle (do a compression and/or leakdown test to determine that) - or a clogged breather. For instance, if the breather outlet (on the side of the crankcase) is partly clogged, it might be unable to allow as much oil to drip back into the crankcase as it should, so more oil gets blown out to the airbox. _________________ "..it's made in Germany.
