If any of you remember, a long while ago, I had mentioned about not receiving a used 924 turbo that I had won on an e-bay auction from a seller known as Blondde (whom is affiliated with partswerks of chicago)

Well anyways, I recieved the turbo a few weeks back much to my surprise. This is after I had filed complaints with e-bay, square-trade, and paypal. It was about a month later after filing my complaints with any resource I had, to try to get my money back, or the turbo that I had paid for. Well, I got this e-mail today from Blondde (Kathy Tangora)....well, read it yourself below...

Joe,
You need to contact paypal and let then know that you recieved the turbo charger. While I was in the hospital having surgery paypal froze my account due to your claim of non reciept. I had to borrow money to get home from the hospital in Tennesse and can not fill my medication that will allow my disease to hopefully go into remission. I was to start taking it Feb. 20th. All the money I have every dime is in my paypal account and I have no access to it. This has caused my home to go into forclosure, I have no food in the house but worse of all is that I am dying and without the medicine I have not a chance. Below is the letter paypal sent me.

Dear Kathy Tangorra,

Thank you for contacting PayPal in regards to the limited access on your
account.

To have the limited access on your account reviewed, the following Buyer
Complaints will need to be resolved:

Non-Receipt
Transaction Date: Nov. 29, 2004
Transaction Amount: -$116.95 USD
Case Number: PP-065-398-972
Buyer's Name: joe pabon
Buyer's Email: jpabon924@aol.com

Let me tell you, this e-mail bothers me. I don`t want any of this to fall on my shoulders.

I checked my paypal account and it shows it as a closed dispute.

As I am writing this I recieved another e-mail from her describing her malady. She also mentions that there the charges were reversed, but it does not show a credit in my paypal account, unless it was deposited back into my bank account. I don`t know.

What strikes me as being odd, is that she is still running auctions on e-bay. Some posted as early as an hour ago. Her feedback has taken a big turn around for the worse as of late, which is probably explainable if she truly is sick.

Hell, I didn`t know it was possible to freeze someone`s paypal account by filing a fraudulent claim! I guess I`ll have to give them a call and tell them its been resolved, even though it shows up in my paypal account as being a resolved dispute...

I never would have expected PayPal to do anything but send threatening emails.

OH do I hate eBay and all it's companies, but I can't stop using them...

errrr....
Irrespective of the "sellers" personal life.... they are running a business/transaction whatever you want to call it....
This is the only thing you need concern yourself with.... You may feel empathy for their situation but this is neither your fault or your responsibility.
If you have recieved your turbo, then just call paypal and let them know, as this is all the seller is asking of you and be happy in the knowledge that your money has helped this person.

Ya' know, with all the bad luck stories I've heard from people who can't seem to ship items I've already freakin' paid for, it seems the whole world is having one big tragedy after another. Would I feel bad for her? No. I've got my own problems.

Sounds like a con job. She's trying to get you to pay again by saying the transaction has been reversed. Get onto Paypal & get their take on it.

Another point is where she states evry dime she has is in her paypal account??? Paypal is not a bank ....I know myself once I get a few hundred accumulated I transfer it into my bank account. She doesn't want to be accountable for her own actions and wants to blame someone else. Sick or not.... you took the only coarse of action available to you...don't loose sleep over it.

IF, she only used paypal to keep her money then she HAD to have internet access to know her account was frozen etc. This to me means she long ago could have contacted you to inform you of her situation.

I recently was very ill with phenomnia and had several ebay items to ship...I could barely get my ass out of bed....but I did email everyone that expected shipments to go out...told them the situation and everyone could relate and was thanked for letting them know what was going on and not to worry about it...and since got excellent feedback.

I am naturally suspicious of sob stories too. I got the same story from Blondde, but she eventually did fill all of my orders. It's unfortunate if her story is true, but there's no way to easily verify it. Consequently, I've stopped using her as a source.

If the seller comunicates then all is good. I won a tig welder almost a month ago and the seller has not responded to any e-mails so I have to file an item not recieved with ebay and paypal... I don't care if it takes a month just answer my e-mails for god's sake.

Ebay is all about communication. If you tell people before hand to expect delays, as pointed out, they are understanding and will cut you slack. If you let things spriral into months of delays and ignore people's emails and that it will certainly turn on you, as we all know.

If her account is frozen because of this one transaction I would be amazed since she is having such difficulties delivering on her sales. She can have the sanctions lifted without you doing a damn thing by providing proof to Paypal that she deliverd the item. If it was sent via UPS, Fed Ex, or DHL proof of delivery is included with every shipment. Takes about 5 minutes to print it out and fax it to Paypal, which is what they require in dispute resolution.

Call them, confirm that you did in fact receive the item, and forget about it. DO NOT pay her again for this, if in fact it was a charge back, then that unfortunately is the price you pay for not keeping your buyers informed of your inherent delays. If it was refunded Joe you would have been notified in some way, and they would not access your bank account to refund the money it would have been put back into your PP account.

Oh, 1 more thing...anyone who keeps ALL their money in an online only account which is not FDIC insured and has some serious fraud problems with email scams and people accessing accounts, is a total idiot.

As Chev pointed out, when a few hundred $ comes in I pull it out and put it in the wallet. If I am going to buy something in the near future I will leave some money in their for the occasional spree, but otherwise I need to feel like my money is in some way protected and my back pocket seems like the safest place to me.

That is why I have a paypal debit card. I leave about $100 in there and pull everything else at the ATM.

Some PayPal accounts can earn money via the money market, so some keep larger amounts of money in it.

BlondDe seems, as you say, to be closely affiliated with PartsWerks in Chicago. PartsWerks has been around for a LONG time. And they have a reasonably good reputation. Suggest you contact them to see what they can tell you.

FWIW, I have noticed that the NOS stuff BlondD sells (presumably the PartsWerk inventory?) is usually listed at prices VERY close or at normal online retail. Close enough that I would just as soon buy retail rather than mess around with Ebay and PayPal.

Well, I took care of what I had to do this morning by calling paypal and making sure they knew I had recieved my item.

I just didn`t like being jacked around even if just for a $116. So I did my homework and followed every avenue I could to try and get a resolution. She informed me that she had to settle with everyone that had filed a complaint, and paypal would not tell her who had froze her account. They finally released the information she needed, and it turned out to be me. I just found it disturbing that I was the root cause for her impending financial ruin and possibly her well being. But as many of you pointed out, she placed all of her eggs in one basket, without thinking out the consequences.

Rest assured I`m not going to lose any sleep over this, as she brought this upon herself. I can`t believe she let it come down to this over a measly $116.00 And in no way am I going to remit payment again for the chargeback. My paypal account shows a zero balance, so its not there!

Thanks for your input guys...

i am actually having some problems with a dodgy person. i paid $35 cash in person to a guy who said blah blah i can order porsche parts for very little, I trusted him because he was just starting out and to test the "waters" i told him to buy me a fuel pump relay. he "ordered" it but it never came in because the first time he said "they sent it to the wrong house" then about a month later after numerous emails with no replies i called and he said "they never sent it, ill pay you back" so i have been calling and he keeps dissapearing. im not really worried as much for my $35 because my good friend gave him something like 350 for a exhaust and cat for his car that never showed up either. any ideas?
