Hey Guys!!
I haven't been on the board for a long time. I was very busy, because school will be ending in 2 weeks. Anyhow, during this time we had a very nasty incident: A BIG block fell of the edge of a balcony on the 2nd floor of our apartment building, and landed straight down on the 924. Luckily only the nose panel and the bumper were damaged. So this gave me a very nice excuse to buy the original bumper. I got a Euro style Porsche 944 bumper, for 200$ in a fair condition.
Today, we have just fixed the dent, and installed the bumper. All what i need is the Turning Signals and Fog lights, and the car will look like new. Also the paint job is tereible and will cost 1000$ + 1 1/2 months of work.
Also, i picked up a pair of Power Mirrors for 30$!!!
It seems that the restoration is comming to an end. Unfortunatley i might not be here to see the car when its done, because there is a 99.9% probability that ill be coming to Canada on the 21st of June, so wish me good luck!!!
Ill try to post the pics ASAP

Ouch. Rough luck there with the building dropping stuff on your car. I wouldn't give it a second thought now - get the h out of there before the rest of it comes down. Get into one of dwak's fine stout log homes in Canada - trade that ugly falling concrete for pretty icicles. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

And how well does the 924 handle on ice? I don't know yet, never having driven it on solid water, but i guess it keeps you concentrating. Talking of unlucky things happening to your 924...i'm going to let off some steam.
Last night I was woken up by screaming in my garden. 4 police officers had chased 4 hood rats into my garden. They were literally all running around my 924...then one of them jumped onto the bonnet, leapt over the roof and landed arse down on the rear windsceen (bending the rear wiper) got up and jumped onto my fence which promptly collapsed onto my 24. Another one then jumped on the bonnet and the policeman jumped on top of him...two guys on my bonnet...Anyway, they read them their rights and carted them off, I didn't go down with them their cos i've had so much trouble with these guys. Anyways, I rang the police and they said 'they hadn't been in my garden and that everything was done in the street and it wasn't their fault my fence was on my car so I can't ask for compensation'. Which was nice. Put their point of view across. Anyway, the wiper bent back round ok, the rear glass took a 12 stone guy falling on it and there's no scratches.
THESE CARS ARE AWESOME. _________________ 1983 - 924 (185K miles) - not mint

Nottingham is mostly nice, started to go downhill in 1135AD when a guy with a bow and arrow and green clothing came on the scene (i reckon his street name was ?robin hood?) and then he's been surpassed by some guys with guns living in the locality. Glad she's getting back ok! I'm coming out to thames for a 10 weeks next year to work in some rural hospitals after i've qualified, then i want to get a cheap car and tour north to south NZ. ((unless you fancy lending me your porsche?? )) _________________ 1983 - 924 (185K miles) - not mint

Here are the Pics: (New Pics Coming Soon)
If it didnt install my car alarm, i wouldn't have knew that something had happened! People were watching and no one asked about that car's owner. After seeing the car, i wanted to do something evil But fortunately i didnt! _________________ 1977 Porsche 924

aaaah, the strength of german engineering...i used to have a honda, before i knew anything about cars; i was 17. Steam started coming out the engine so i stopped and rang my dad. He asked if there was still water in the reservoir, i shook it and it looked full so hetold me to drive the 3miles home slowly. i said the temp was in the middle and dropping. i got back and he asked me why it was clearly empty...i had been looking at the screenwash. the temp was ok cos there was no water left to heat the thermometer. i cracked the head. pity, the engine had done 135000miles and was still perfect. i am learning from my mistakes...
those are quite some pictures. i presume you don't want to interpret them as lucky that you car wasn't a few feet further forward... _________________ 1983 - 924 (185K miles) - not mint
