I removed and refitted the manifold with the head on.
What a PITA.
Not recommended unless you have the time and patience.
I had to remove all the heat shields so I could get my hands in there as well as the steering join to the steering box. (RHD)
I replaced all the studs with SS bolts and studs.
No leaks and runs well.
FWIW...... use 8x 40mm bolts or 50 mm studs after re-tapping the holes to the bottom in the head. I had to use studs for the bottom of 2 & 3 because I could not get bolts in there.
Well the car goes for its road worthy certificate today. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

A few problems were picked up during the safety test.
Engine mounts have to be replaced.
Crank oil seal leaking.... I've replaced it already but still leaks.
Those mounts are $360 for the left and RH is not available in Aust.
Got them from Paragon for $370.. incl freight.
Pays to look around. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA
