I went though the car wash today and before I even got in the car just dies. Starts up and barely stays running. dies a few more times, and when I get out stays running okay. but it stutters, so I open the hood and find that one of the spark plug wires came half off the dist. (PS don't touch while car is running, ouch). The cap and the inside of the plug wire is rusted. now I need to get another wire end, does anyone know if I can get one from autozone or somewhere? Hope I can get it tomorrow so I can go to Funfest on Sat.
I also had trouble putting the spark plug boot on the 3rd plug, it's like it was too big to go back in this time, It is physically bigger than the 2nd plug's. Anyone had this trouble before? _________________ 1987 924S Guards Red

Recently I changed all my leads.
I took them all off and measured them with a tape measure, writing down the lengths.
I think they went 65,75,85,95 cm.
Went to local auto-pro chain store and bought them individually off the shelf for $5 ea.
Car has never run better. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

Checked auto-pro today & the individual leads with the push-on end at the spark plug (rather than the screw-on end I have now, which is not a problem) were $7 each. The problem is that the distributor cap end of the leads also appear to push onto a post on the distributor cap, but my current leads have the post built in & the cap has no post.
Were you able to find the ones with the post at your auto-pro or did you do something else to enable you to use standard off-the-shelf leads? _________________ TJ

Not being aware of the last time my plugs were changed I did that too.

My local Auto-Pro didn't have the ones with posts (took mine in). I'll have to try Auto-Bahn & Super Cheap to see if they have 'em. _________________ TJ
