does anyone now where I can get a dual sending unit that will fit a 931. The oil temp is VDO but VW and the oil press is also VDO origingal 10bar from the 931. Any suggestions will help and be appriciated, thanks _________________ 1980 924 Turbo (in pieces right now, but getting there) almost there

Using the factory connection is difficult because its at the back of the head and very hard to reach. I always had 8 bar when cold, 3 bar at idle, and 5 bar at 3,000 rpm even after 180,000 miles. There may be somewhere else you can drill and tap a hole but it is too easy to get chips into the oil galley. It takes very little to clog one of those holes that sprays oil onto the cam. If you want a temp gauge, you may be able to place the sensor against the oil pan at the rear of the engine.

egauges.com sells VDO gauges and senders.
The sender for the pressure gauge, sounds like you're running the stock gauge, so you'd want the stock sender, no? It's a dual sender, with a connection for both the idiot light and the gauge. However a temp sender would be separate - I've never heard of a dual temp/pressure sender.
Besides which, the sump is typically, as Dan noted, where the temp senders are put. Mine in my racecar is elsewhere, in the plumbing for the cooler, but that's cause I've added all that stuff. For a stock car, the sump is the easiest place. There are plugs on the back of the pan to replace with a sender; very early 924's actually had a temp sender there. Of course, now the 931 has oil hoses there... _________________ Vaughan Scott
