Heya blokes (man i love the ausies accent )
i'm playing Need For Speed Most Wanted and i just got my hands on a PORSCHE Cayman.....i can tell you it handles superbly....better than any other car i have access until now. it accelerates better than any other car available until now
I got this car for free after i beat some guy....the poor thing was all riced out...but i repaired it...and mounted a nice bodykit...man i love this car.
here is a screenshot:

I've been cruising around in that for a month or so on NFS-MW. It's nicely balanced in the twisites and tight sideroads, but it's tough to beat the big sort ute cops when they surround you! You just have to try to rub them off in traffic and agains guard rails and buildings.
Nice subtle body kit! I like it

I was at the local Porsche dealer yesterday and saw that exact same car in person.Even got a picture on my camera phone.A VERY sexy car up close.Altjough it was surrounded by a GT3 and a couple Lamborgs it had the prime showroom location and held it beutifully. Now if I only had $92k..... _________________ 1979 Euro 931, Olive

ok..here is an update on the look of my new love
i did a preety stupid thing....i had 170.000 and 3 cars + the Cayman
I sold all the cars except for the Cayman....i bought a 911 Carrera S and invested all the money....the 911 does not look that sexy to me as the cayman does...and it is slower...handles worst and accelerats slow....
However...it has the Porsche feeling....it understeers and it accelerates while drifting it is nice to drive...but way to expensive !

on my xbox i have froza motorsport. i have the porsche 959 with some upgrades, that car will smoke anything in the game. 0 to 100mph ~4.6 sec fastes i had it was 226 mph when i started red lining and getting boost spikes. its not ranked my higets preformance car but it beats my highest proformance car (porsche 911 gt2 or 3 cant remember, also my Audi P2 car) |

I smell a challenge! I'm a Forza Motorsport nut, too! Best sim so far, IMHO.
And all my favourite Porsches are in there! (except the toofah Turbo, bummer)
So, Free Run at the Nürburgring, one flying lap. Any type of car you want and any mods... BUT IT CAN'T EXCEED CLASS A1
Let's see your lap time... _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

then
912
924
931
937
968
and so on and so forth _________________ Why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly?

Well, Forza Motorsport has the 550, '73(?) 911 Carrera RS, '79(?) 930, '88 951, original 993 GT2, 996 GT3, 959, Carrera GT, the GT1 and 996 GT3 Carrera Cup car... maybe others I've forgotten.
I ran a 9:15.something in the A1-class 993 GT2 around the 'Ring, my fastest so far. But I've got a Faz 360 CS that'll take it for sure... _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

i was at 9:45 and had 1:30 off the track. one spot i was doing ~208 mph and hit a bump and the front end came off the ground and spun out with out hitting a wall and that one spot where half the road is banked i hit that half on and slid off im retrying it.
my '79 911 carrera is suped up to the max and it tourqe steers like a bitch, i cant drive it the rear end breaks lose if i gun it at any speed |

Yeah, you gotta keep it on the track!

Lesson number 1, Grasshopper: Power isn't everything.
The Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale absolutely thrashed the 993 GT2, unfortunately.
Here's a screen shot in case you doubt my time
BTW, some tips:
Race the 'Ring in "Point-to-point" mode. It's broken into four sections (A, B, C and D). Do each section a couple of dozen times -or at least until you can keep it on the track through each. Then you'll know the track. Makes it a lot easier.
The gearing in each car is usually not ideal. I generally lower the gearing a little bit. I also lower the lock on the slippery-diff under deceleration... about 70% accel. and 25% decel. as a general rule.
I also step-up the tyre pressures a little. Seems to improve grip.
And I push the brake force more towards the front (55-60%) and set the brake pressure down so it doesn't lock-up as easily (110% of normal seems pretty good in general).
I don't usually play around with the other settings. Lowering doesn't seem to help too much. I sometimes make the sway bars stronger but not too much...
The only cars that need a pretty unique suspension tune are the 911's (what a surprise! ). I've got mine pretty well sorted. Understeery but better than snap oversteer off the track...
I'll PM you the settings if you like? _________________ '80 924 Turbo |
