has anyone successfully reused a headgasket on a 924? I know that you're not supposed to use them on account of the crush rings, but my head has to come off and I can't wait for a new gasket to come in on order, not to mention I have no wheels while my car is off the road. _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |

I wouldn't do it. You even can cause more problems after, like real overheating of the head, with cracking...

Yeah, I know the conventional wisdom is not to do that, but I wanted to know if anyone has ever done it and their results.... ah well. New gasket is ordered. For the second time in less than a month At least there was no $200 tow involved in this one... _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |

Sry guys, but i have used one gasket twice. It has been in use about 200kms, I had to take the engine apart and used it. No issues (even after 21 000kms) , but definitely not the right route to go. _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp
