Flywheel lock?

Screwdriver jammed in the ring gear and levered against the starter hole?

Impact wrench?

Our impact wrench doesnt fit into the space that we have. we just moved the clutch bellhousing back about 4 inches. i will try the screwdriver idea. thanks.

remove the bellhousing entirely, you will have to to be able to remove the flywheel anyways

Try the poor mans' impact wrench - smack your wrench with a mallet. I used this technique in the Navy to remove flywheel bolts with my engine on a workbench and nothing to imobilize the flywheel.
